Groundwater catchment services in the Outaouais
Standard drilling and specialized drilling
Drilling is the set of operations which consist in digging the layers of the subsoil using appropriate equipment. This step provides an interesting saving of money since it makes it possible to capture the natural heat of the basement, that is to say the phenomenon of geothermal energy.
At Puits Artesiens Monette, this part of the work is done using a rotary drill, also called a rotation-hammer. It is our tool of choice because of its power and speed during drilling operations, and at a lower cost than other methods.
Sale, repair and installation
Our experts are attentive and support you in your efforts, from the estimate made on site, until your artesian well is operational and you know how it works. Whether you need a new water pump or a replacement well pump, we even guarantee labour for a full year.
When all the work is done according to the rules of the art, as we guarantee it to our customers, the artesian well represents a safe, reliable and efficient investment. A well-equipped well with a high-performance water pump ensures a constant supply of quality water.
Puits Artésiens Monette's expertise in pump systems also extends to fast and efficient well pump repair services. Whether it's a system installed by our team of professionals or another company, we ensure quality well pump repairs.
Hydraulic fracking
Hydraulic fracturing (or hydrofracturing) is an operation that consists of temporarily blocking the entrance to a well and injecting water at very high pressure into it in order to open and clean the blocked cracks, and this to as natural as possible.
Hydrofracturing of a well is necessary:
- if the water flow obtained following drilling is not sufficient to find a better water flow when it is not very productive in order to achieve a higher yield than it was previously
Well cementing
The cementing of artesian wells (or the sealing of wells) consists in making it watertight, and this permanently. This operation is essential to protect the wells against any external contamination.
Cementing is done by drilling a large hole to contain the casing. The space between the hole and the casing is then filled with bentonite, a material which has the particularity of swelling on contact with water, which will make this space completely waterproof.
Since June 2003, the Quebec government has adopted a new regulation on groundwater catchment works. Now the well should be located:
- at a minimum distance of 30 meters from a leaky wastewater treatment system at a minimum distance of 15 meters from a sealed wastewater treatment system at a minimum distance of 30 meters from a crop plot
However, it is possible for the well to be located at a minimum distance of 15 meters from a leaking wastewater treatment system when cementing the well.
Well cleaning
Puits Artesiens Monette also offers a cleaning service for your well.

Camera verification
Camera verification consists of inserting a video camera into the groundwater catchment structure.
This operation: is necessary when you notice problems related to the water supply, such as cracks and infiltrations could represent a great saving if, for example, the images show that repairs would be unnecessary even before starting the work .
